WARM, ELEVATED SPACES THAT DON'T SACRIFICS SOUL FOR STYLE
Overlooking the streets below through original arched windows, the sunroom lounge is nestled within a private members club along the rooftop of a historic 1920's building. Originally serving as a speakeasy, the floor itself had never been built-out to match the Beaux Art's spelndor of the clubs other floors. In approaching the renovation, Studio Savant paid homage to this history by treating it as a restoration project. Timeless period finishes were incorporated with use of a modern palette, and playful touches were introduced through the furniture and artwork to give the space a contemporary touch. The final result is a blend of historic charm with a fresh, welcoming appeal.

Situated a few blocks off of the main strip leading into the heart of Waikiki, the design concept for this three-star property was shaped by a modern take on 1960's Hawaiian aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the architectural, local, and pop cultural themes of that period, the finishes, design elements, and decorative touches typically considered "stereotytical" to Hawai'i were revisited and re-imagined through collaborations with local artisans. In partnering with these individuals, the project offered an opportunity to showcase talents present within the local community while ensuring a sense of relevance to modern day Hawai'i.

A beloved yet dated "neighborhood bar" within a private club was refreshed to welcome a new generation of members. Preserving the architectural integrity, this cozy bar features intimate seating groups and warm, ambient lighting. Nestled between mirrored skyscrapers that reflect breathtaking sunsets, this magical rooftop offers a serene refuge in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The design builds upon an existing urban garden, enhanced by the landscape of adjacent towering neighboring trees, to create a lush backdrop. Inspired by the building that houses this space, the design emulates a European garden with trailing espalier walls, curvaceous ironwork, and built-in stone benches under a canopy of wild greenery. Pea gravel-lined paths meander through intimate seating areas adorned with burbling fountains, lending a serene and meditative ambiance. The result is a spacious events venue that maintains a sense of intimacy, providing a picturesque backdrop for a myriad of stories to unfold.
Distinguished as Miami's first bar in the renowned Wynwood district, Racket captures the raw energy that emanates from this graffiti art haven. Inspired by urban elements such as scissor gates, neon signs, and bold signage patterns, the interiors reimagine these features with a playful and vibrant flair. Walking through the space mimics the transition from day to night, starting in a sun-filled atrium and gradually becoming darker and more energetic as you move deeper into the venue. Specialty millwork throughout the space includes a trundled stage and concealed games, maximizing flexibility and enhancing the dynamic atmosphere.
Embracing the charm of Austin while infusing the laid-back vibe of Southern California's surf and skate culture, this design approach aims to create a space with a rustic, lived-in feel. The strategy involves a harmonious blend of textures and raw materials: modernized shiplap siding, exposed raw timber beams, collaged cabinet doors adorning the dining counter, rusted metal accents, live-edge wood tables, and worn leather transaction tops. These elements collectively bring the concept to life, crafting a space that feels both unique and welcoming.
For this esteemed private club, the renovation of the main lobby aimed to restore its turn-of-the-century grandeur, drawing inspiration from the historic building's structure and character. The design approach honors the past while embracing the future, seamlessly blending contemporary elements with historic details. The material palette and color scheme were thoughtfully developed to enhance the existing intricate hand-painted patterns and details on the exposed coffered ceilings, creating a striking visual impact upon entering the space. Extending beyond the main lobby, the renovation also encompassed the club's front desk, valet, and retail shop, ensuring a cohesive and impressive first impression for members and guests.
